ARMADALE MOTORING GUIDE
What to Do When Your Car Won’t Start
Note what happens when you turn the key, check whether the dash lights work, and avoid repeated cranking. A mobile diagnosis can separate battery, starter, fuel and other faults.
Start with clear information
Tell the repairer exactly what the car is doing, when the problem began, whether warning lights are showing and what work was recently completed. Provide the vehicle make, model, year and location.
Ask before work begins
Confirm the call-out arrangement, diagnostic charges, labour rate and whether parts are included. Ask for approval to be obtained before additional repairs are undertaken.
Know when a workshop is safer
Mobile service is practical for many common jobs, but work requiring a hoist, specialised machinery, extensive dismantling or an unsuitable roadside location may need a workshop.
WA Consumer Protection advises motorists to use appropriately licensed repair businesses and ask for clear pricing. Transport WA recommends regular vehicle maintenance for safety and efficiency.
